Why won't my .xd file open?
Usually one of two things. Either the file was saved by a newer version of Adobe XD than the one you have — Adobe then refuses to open it and asks you to update — or the file itself is damaged. The two look similar from the outside and need completely different answers, so the first useful step is finding out which one you have.
My file was created with a newer version of Adobe XD. Can I still open it?
Very likely yes, because that file isn't broken — it's just newer than your app. Figpea doesn't check which Adobe XD version wrote a file; it reads the file's structure directly. If it contains something newer that Figpea doesn't recognize, Figpea shows you the file and lists what it couldn't import, instead of refusing to open it.
Can Figpea repair or fix a corrupt .xd file?
No — and be careful with anything that says it can. Figpea has no way to rebuild a damaged file and hand you a working .xd back. What it does is read the file as it is and tell you the truth about it: what's still in there, and what couldn't be read. On a partly damaged file that's often enough to get your artboards, fonts and copy back out.
What does the health report actually tell me?
Your project's artboards, the components and interactions it contains, every font it uses (including which ones are missing on your machine and the closest Google Fonts match), the images inside it, and all of its text. If anything failed to import, the report adds an Import issues section naming what it was. In the editor you open it from the main menu, under Project Report. It's free and needs no account.
Is my broken file uploaded anywhere?
No. Figpea is a web page, so you load it over the internet — but your file is read on your own device by code running in your browser, and is never uploaded. Nothing is queued on a server and there's nothing to delete afterwards.
I get Adobe XD error 47 or 48, or "Sorry we can't open this document in Adobe XD". Will this help?
Only if you have the actual .xd file on your computer. Those errors usually come from an Adobe cloud document, where the file lives in Creative Cloud rather than on your disk — and there's no local file for Figpea to read. If you can get a local copy — open the document on a machine that still has Adobe XD, then save a local copy from there — drop that copy here and Figpea will tell you what's inside it.
